Peterhead Business Forum
Peterhead Business Forum started life as the Peterhead
Business and Traders Association from a public meeting
called by Aberdeenshire Towns Partnership during
October, 2000.
Peterhead Business Forum has since evolved into the
credible and respected voice of the Peterhead and area
business community.
The monthly meetings are open to all business owners in
the Peterhead area. By attending meetings you will get
an insight into the workings of the PBF and the benefits
of membership. You will keep up to date with the
initiatives and projects supported by the PBF, including
Peterhead and Buchan Tourism Initiatives, improvements
to the town's image & appearance and involvement with
The Peterhead Project, Aberdeenshire Towns Partnership
and Aberdeenshire Towns Together Forum.PBF meetings can also provide useful networking
opportunities as well as providing information on the
latest in planning issues which might affect the
business community.
For 2008, the PBF's main task will be lobbying for greater
representation of Peterhead in the City and Shire 25
year Structure Plan which will continue be developed
throughout 2008.
In addition to these, the following activities will be
developed:
Production of
PBF News, distributed to 1000 businesses
locally
Increase membership
To organise networking events
Upkeep of the business skills database
Provide communication between major project
Stakeholders and the business community
Represent the business community at Peterhead Project
meetings
Deal with any issues directly affecting local businesses
as they arise

The Board of the Peterhead Business Forum is made up of
volunteers from the Business Community and is assisted
by representatives of Aberdeenshire Council,
Aberdeenshire Towns Partnership, Scottish Enterprise
Grampian, and Buchan Development Partnership.
The Forum represents a wide cross section of business
interests in the area from multi-national companies to
sole traders. Additionally, the Forum has sought to
increase its influence as wide as possible to assist
businesses by inviting into the organisation both MSPs
and MP as Honorary Members.
The Forum has regular closed meetings with
Peterhead Councillors during which representations can be
made of specific issues concerning the business
community. Useful discussions about future planning and
strategic matters are also covered in necessary depth at
these meetings. Any business owners are welcome to
suggest items for the agenda by contacting pbf@peterhead.org.uk
There is a small charge of £35 per year to become a full
member of the Forum, due to the need to communicate with
the membership and to enable us to take projects
forward.
