Cruise into Peterhead and you are sailing straight into
the gateway to the heart of Scotland. Disembarking from
a cruise ship at Peterhead Harbour, the passenger has a
wide range of options, with something to satisfy the
most discerning of travellers. North East Scotland is a
compact corner of contrasts. No theme park or model
villages. Here the visitor will find the genuine
article; castles which have survived many battles,
distilleries producing fine malt whiskies enjoyed around
the world, spectacular scenery and a strong sense of
history and heritage.
Cruise Vessels
Peterhead Harbour can provide a comprehensive range of
special services for cruise vessels. These make the
visit much more enjoyable than landing at an empty
quayside.
The berth wil be decorated with flags and bunting, a
special newspaper for cruise passengers provided for
distribution before vessel arrives, complementary
shuttle bus service to the town throughout the day,
provision of Scottish entertainment which could include
pipe band and Scottish country dancers in the evening,
and a trade/craft fair selling local specialities can be
organised. The attention to detail in planning cruises
calls for help to ensure the visit is a success for all
involved.

The Authority has recently constructed a wave wall along
the seaward side of the structure, which will
significantly reduce downtime caused by overtopping
seas. This will allow clients to plan operations with a
much greater degree of confidence that work will not be
disrupted due to adverse weather.
