Peterhead Harbour services:
Box Washing
Facilities are available at the harbour.
Bunkers
Fuel is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by
road tanker alongside berths and four fuelling points on
Albert Quay.
Cranes
A number of local firms specialise in mobile crane hire.
Electrical Engineering
Several electrial engineers with marine experience are
available 24 hours a day.
Fresh Water and Ice
Available on all quays, and for fishing vessels at the
ice factories.
Net Repair
There are a number of net making and repair firms in
Peterhead, all of which provide a fast and highly
efficient service.
Refuse Disposal
All types of ships' refuse is removed from the quay.
Skips are available on request.
Royal National Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen
Located in Union Street, opposite the drydock.
Ship Repair/Painting
Most hull and engine repairs are available - either
afloat or in slipway and drydock. Major engineering
firms are based in or around the port. Ships'
carpenters, painters, electricians and plumbers are
similarly based in the harbour area.
Stores
Chandelry, grocery, fish and meat supplies are
available.
Telecommunications
Radio, radar and other telecommunication facilities are
based at Peterhead.
Towage
Tugs are available from Targe Towage Services.
Weighbridge
Located in Seagate near the drydock.
Ship Repair
Excellent hull and engine repair facilities are
available at Peterhead. A drydock is located in the
North Harbour and can currently handle ships up to 57.9
metres in length, 10.67 metres beam and 5 metres
draught.
The slipway, has four cradles. It is located in Port
Henry Harbour and can accept ships up to 24.43 metres
keel length, with a maximum beam of 7.2 metres and
weight of 230 tonnes.
The drydock and slipways are owned and operated by the
Peterhead Harbour Trustees and bookings can be made

These facilities are complemented by a skilled workforce
from locally-based companies, which cover the whole
spectrum of repair, maintenance and conversion of
vessels. In addition, carpenters, marine electricians,
engineers, painters, radar and radio specialists, diving
contractors and salvage companies, among others, are
available.
