Tanker Jetty:
The Tanker Jetty was originally designed to accommodate oil tankers of up to 50,000 tonnes deadweight, delivering fuel oil to nearby Peterhead Power Station. The berth can accommodate vessels up to 280 metres in length with a maximum draught of up to 11.5 metres. The jetty is suitable for use by cruise liners, offering coach parking near the gangway landing point, quick access to main road networks and ready security provision. Subject to overriding priority use by Hydro-Electric, the jetty may also be used for vehicle repair and maintenance, diving support and survey vessels and vessels loading grain and other bulk cargoes. Oil rigs may be accommodated from April to September inclusive.

The jetty is also regularly used by clients for demonstrating or testing ROV's and other equipment.

The tanker jetty consists of a reinforced concrete deck supported on steel piles. The surface of the loading platform is 4.8 metres above MHWS.

The centre of the berthing face at the loading platform is protected by 3.3 metre diameter Yokohama fenders. Berthing dolphins, similarly fendered, are located 35 metres either side of the centre of the loading platform. Two mooring dolphins are located each side of these. Both berthing and mooring dolphins are fitted with Mampaey quick-release mooring hooks each capable of accepting a mooring load up to 100 tonnes.

Vessels are required to ensure that their mooring ropes are compatible with and have a proof loading not exceeding these limits.

Fresh water is available at the jetty at a maximum loading rate of 30 tonnes per hour. Fuel can be delivered by road tanker. There is a small furnished office located near the berth which is available to clients using the jetty.
