Peterhead Bay North Base Quay:
North Breakwater
The North Base was designed to provide a wide range of
services to the construction and hook-up sectors of the
oil industry. The base offers facilities for heavy lift
operations, office and warehouse accommodation and ready
access to engineering and fabrication services. The
North Breakwater has an 18 metre wide deck and minimum
alongside depth of up to 14 metres. The berths are
protected by a combination of heavy rubber tyre and
hardwood fenders which can be supplemented by 4 Yokohama
fenders of 2 metre diameter. The Authority has recently
constructed a wave wall along the seaward side of the
structure, which will significantly reduce downtime
caused by overtopping seas. This will allow clients to
plan operations with a much greater degree of confidence
that work will not be disrupted due to adverse weather.
North Base Jetty
The North Base Jetty is an open piled concrete decked
jetty measuring 122 metres in length and 15 metres wide.
The two serviced berths, one on each side, have a
minimum water depth of up to 7 metres.
